Rotary District Conference 2019 Info

I'm excited to report that planning is already underway for an exciting Rolling On the River conference in 2019. The conference website that I hope you'll visit often for updates is active at Rotary6910Conference.org.  The conference begins on Thursday, May 2, 2019 and concludes Sunday, May 5, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency in Greenville, South CarolinaGreenville is a short drive from any destination in Rotary District 6910.

Clubs are encouraged to promote the conference with performances documented on video and presented at District Governor Bruce Azevedo's official club visit. The performance can be in the form of a skit, song or whatever your club wants. Capture it with a cell phone video. (It doesn't have to be professionally done). The performance shouldn't exceed two minutes and will be judged in the following categories:
  1. Appearance and stage presence; Use of costumes and props.
  2. Overall creativity
  3. Crowd appeal and audience response
The award for the BEST CLUB PERFORMANCE will be presented at the Rolling on the River District Conference.  Submit your video to Tammy Gilland, Rolling on the River PR Chair.

Rotary District 6910 clubs will have an opportunity to share their accomplishments and showcase their projects.

Club Recognitions/Awards will be sprinkled throughout the Plenary Sessions and Dinners
(with lots and lots of awards). Dinners with be 'Theme Driven.'

There will be free time on Friday and Saturday for group activities or to enjoy Greenville on your own.

We will have special recognition for
  • 1st Time Conference Attendances with a special program prior to start of conference.
  • Presidents-Elect Reception with DGE Don Martin
  • Children's Activities/food during dinners
Thursday's "Lift Off" dinner will feature keynote speaker, Wayne Bingham, who will share with us his journey, having contracted polio at a young age and his career experience with the Space Shuttle Columbia.

Youth are the inspiration for Friday night's "Be the Inspiration" dinner.  On Saturday night, we will celebrate with "Kentucky Derby" style attire and maybe even give you a chance to throw in bets.

The conference will conclude on Saturday night for families to enjoy Greenville on Sunday or arrive home by early afternoon. An Interfaith Service is the only scheduled event on Sunday morning.

You can now book you hotel reservations here. Conference registration will open January 1, 2019.

Look out for updates in District Governor Bruce Azevedo's newsletter. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
